I owned the original Rock Out speaker, and this one is much better. The construction is more solid, like the double zippers (original only had one), the cords on the back work better than the previous design and it looks more like a stereo from the front, which is nice. Buttons are great for modern touch devices, but would be cool if they could work with older iPods (I still have an iPod shuffle which I use with it but can't use the controls on the front). Also big plus having the charging cord built into the device, unlike the previous one that had a separate detachable cord that you have to keep track of.

I have owned one for years. I take my music when working in the yard or garage. I use it when on my houseboat working or relaxing on the upper deck. I had to purchase another one because I left it in the yard and my young dog ate the wires so it was no good. So I bought two. One was the camo so maybe he won't see it when I leave it laying around. Really they are great with good sound.

I really like my speaker! It is convenient, has a great sound and meets my needs in the morning when i'm getting ready for work. It's easy to carry around and keep up with. It's red and easy to spot! And I enjoy my favorite songs! The price is right!

My son bought me a Rock Out 2 Portable Speaker for Christmas 2015. We use it to listen to podcasts in the car when traveling. He expressed his desire to buy one for himself, so I purchased another for his Christmas present this year. The sound quality is wonderful and the turn on/turn off tickles me every time I hear it.

From its high quality sound, awesome lashing points, the rugged design, the versatility it has, and the ease of pairing this little guy, I don't know where to begin. The sound is incredible. I originally got it to supplement my new HP laptops extremely quiet speakers to watch shows and listen to music. It is seamless and sounds like a theater (I have used it a lot to talk on the phone any people on the other end say it sounds great) The lashing points are perfect for my backpack or hanging around the house/car. I can attatch it anywhere. This thing is built like a tank, but isn't super heavy. Incredible design that isn't bulky or feel like a chintzy brick that I have felt in other speakers. The versatility from using it to play music, to answer a phone call, to watching a movie on my laptop is sweet. I use my phone a ton and plug it in while I can talk to people through the speakers as far as the Bluetooth allows (50ft is a long ways!) It is so easy to switch from my Android phone to my HP computer. I could keep going, but you're not here to read a book. I didn't even talk about the chaining jack or the built in USB or the phone pouch or the solar panel. Last thing to note, I have had no problem with the battery. I read other reviews saying it sucks and I have used it for a long time. It has four lights indicating 25% battery life. Great feature.

              About Me

              Comments:

Got this about 4 days after I ordered regular shipping. Was impressed. Like other have stated when the plug in cord is moved around there can be some static or scratchy noise. Usually just occurs when getting it all set up and ready to go. I haven't taken it out yet in the field but it is small enough to pack on any backpacking trip and weighs minimal, was kind of hoping it would weigh less but it's really not a big deal. Haven't tested the battery life yet but for sound I don't think you can find better for same price and size. You don't get a big bass sound but all around it is very respectable. Let's be real no. One buys this for bass anyways. I do enjoy the fact it zippers apart and you can stuff your mp3 player or phone size related items into the zipper compartment. Very handy and well thought out. Overall I would highly recommend to anyone looking for great sound, solar comparability, and low price.

Not As Good As The Original RockOut

              By

              About Me

              Comments:

There is no way to use my two early Rockouts anymore so I bought this one and was really excited about it. However, it cuts out as I try to listen to my audiobooks and/or use it with my Kindle, iPad, or Mac computer. This is useless to me because of that defect and I've here that others have the same problem. Please bring back the wonderful original.
