The Raccoon River Valley Trail is one of the premiere trails in Iowa. Passes are required and help support the development, maintenance, and improvement of the RRVT.
This the former right-of-way of a railroad built in the 1870s and early 1880s. The first section of the Raccoon River Valley Trail opened on Oct. 7, 1989, with a 34-mile route completed in 1990 from Waukee to Yale. The last section, a former railroad right-of-way on which a 33-mile “north loop” of the RRVT was completed in 2013.
Trail pass is valid for the calendar year.
